We proudly celebrated our 20th anniversary in business last year! As part of the festivities, we unveiled a new brand identity and also sponsored the fabulous St Giles Hospice in Whittington.
NEC Graph-fix was founded in 1996 by brothers Tim and Lee James, beginning life on Fryers Road in Walsall. The business then moved to the site of the National Exhibition Centre in 1999, hence the NEC Graph-fix name, before moving back to our original Walsall premises four years later.
With 32 staff and a roster of national accounts including outdoor media company Primesight, the business is bigger and more efficient than ever before.
St Giles Hospice provides care to more than 7000 people a year who are facing incurable illness and also offer over 2000 people a year with bereavement support. We’ve been privileged to provide bespoke banners and graphics for the charities fundraisings events in 2017 and look forward to continuing to offer our support throughout 2018.
Our managing director Tim James said: “The anniversary is a significant milestone for the business, not least because it has thrived amidst a rapidly changing print environment.
“Huge strides in technology have brought about the evolution of digital print, wide format print and a speed and quality of print that would have been unfathomable twenty years ago.
“We have embraced these changes and are always looking to invest in new technology and products, with our service offering now including outdoor, Point of Sale, Free Standing Display Units and Dyesub printing.
“We decided to mark our anniversary by providing bespoke banners to St Giles Hospice because it’s a charity that’s close to our hearts. Family members of the owners of the business and that of several of our team members have all received care there.
“As well as being an opportunity to give something back to the local community, the anniversary provided the perfect opportunity to take stock and decide how we wish to project our business over the next 20 years.
“The new-look logo has been designed to better reflect the wide variety of work we now undertake, as well as the multi-tasking nature of our industry. With the octopus being famous for its ink, it was the logical choice for our business.”
Philippa Graty, the Corporate fundraiser for St Giles said the hospice was grateful for the support from NEC Graph-fix.
“We simply couldn’t do the work we do in caring for people in the local community without the support of companies like NEC Graph-fix,” she said.
“It’s great to work with the team, and we’re delighted they have chosen St Giles as a partner for their anniversary year.”
